Welcome to the 3rd issue of Weekly News Feed. In past week, we covered a few distribution releases and development releases. Also, there was an article on usefulness of elementary OS and news on availability of budgie v10.4 in Debian and Ubuntu. We did not cover release of Ubuntu 17.10 beta 1 releases owing to it's wide spread nature.

KaOS 2017.09 snapshot released with latest Nomad-firewall

The KaOS team has announced availability of KaOS 2017.09, latest stable snapshot of independently developed rolling GNU/Linux distribution. Along with several package updates, KaOS 2017.09 also brings latest release of Nomad-firewall. It has been a while since last update of Nomad firewall. Finally, it is migrated to Qt5 frameworks and latest release is included in KaOS 2017.09 snapshot.

Following official release of Budgie v10.4, the Ubuntu Budgie team has announced availability of Budgie v10.4 for Debian and Ubuntu distributions. Ubuntu Budgie team is holding the responsibility of packaging Budgie desktop for Debian based distributions.
Currently, Budgie v10.4 is available in Debian unstable and Debian Buster repositories. It is planned to be the default desktop environment

It has been a while since arrival of KDE Frameworks 5.x. Since then, a lot of applications has updated their code using Frameworks 5.x. Finally, KTorrent is also getting updated with Frameworks 5.x. In an official tweet, KDE Neon team has announced the availability of updated KTorrent in KDE Neon developer edition.
