The Fedora project has announced public availability of Fedora 26 Alpha for testing. This is first development release of Fedora 26 which is scheduled to release later in this year. This release announcement is applicable for all variations of Fedora such as Fedora Workstation, Fedora spins, Fedora Lab and ARM distributions.
For the first time, Fedora Spins also includes LXQt flavor, a lightweight, Qt based desktop environment which is expected to be a replacement for LXDE in near future.
A detailed list of changes approved for Fedora 26 can be found in approved change set published in Fedora Wiki pages. Some of those changes are already in place and mature enough. While some other changes are cutting edge and another set of changes are yet to be implemented. Following are some notable highlights expected in Fedora 26 final release.
