The Tails team announced availability of Tails 2.0, latest stable release of Debian based GNU/Linux distribution shipped with special tools and packages which helps to protect your anonymity and privacy while browsing internet.
Tails 2.0 is first release in Tails 2.x series, also this is first Tails distribution based on Debian 8.x branch. This release is shipped with GNOME shell which makes a lot of changes in traditional Tails desktop.

- Tails now uses the GNOME Shell desktop environment, in its Classic mode. GNOME Shell provides a modern, simple, and actively developed desktop environment. The Classic mode keeps the traditional Applications, Places menu, and windows list. Accessibility and non-Latin input sources are also better integrated.
- Based on Debian 8.x Jessy, which implies availability of a lot of updated software packages
- Tor Browser 5.5 which is based on Firefox 38.6.0 ESR
- Removed the Windows camouflage which is currently broken in GNOME Shell.
- Update most firmware packages which might improve hardware compatibility.
- Replaced Claws Mail with icedow.
