The Linux Mint community announced availability of Linux Mint 17.3 'KDE', latest release in Linux Mint 17.3 family, featuring KDE as default desktop environment. This release includes KDE 4.14, MDM 2.0, a Linux kernel 3.19 and an Ubuntu 14.04 package base.

After long days inactivity, finally Ubuntu Software center gets a massive update. Unfortunately, this update is only available for daily builds of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
New update includes use of `Ubuntu One` token for authenticating to server, support for Adwaita dark theme, removal of extra channel support ..etc

The Linux Mint team announced that, Linux Mint releases in 18.x series will be known by the code name 'Sarah'. Sarah is a feminine name used by a wide range of people following Christanity, Islam and Jewism. Sarah was name of prophet Abraham's wife.
Linux Mint 18.x series will be based on Ubuntu 16.04.x LTS, and it is expected that first release of this series will be available by May/June

The dedoimedo portal has published a review of Linux Mint 17.3, latest stable release of Ubuntu 14.04.x LTS based GNU/Linux distribution. After playing with Linux Mint 17.3 for a while, reviewer concludes that, similar to other releases in this season, Linux Mint 17.3 has also failed to impress him. He is very happy with Linux Mint 17.2, but not with Linux Mint 17.3.

Well, microsfot's windows XP is officially retired. So there is no reason to see whether it is faster than Lubuntu-Lightweight GNU/Linux distribution based on Ubuntu.
