Tails, the amnesic incognito live system 2.3 released

The team behind Tails project announced release of Tails 2.3, latest stable update of Debian based GNU/Linux distribution that comes with tools and packages which helps to improve privacy of users while using internet.

As usual, Tail 2.3 comes with several bug fixes and security fixes. So the development team highly recommends existing users to update their system.


In addition to packages updates, following are countable changes introduced in this release.
  • Upgrade to Debian 8.4, a Debian point release with many minor upgrades and fixes to various packages
  • You can now copy and paste your GnuPG passphrases into the pinentry dialog, for example from KeePassX or the clipboard.
  • Upgrade Tor Browser to 5.5.5.
  • Upgrade I2P to 0.9.25.
  • Upgrade Electrum from 2.5.4 to 2.6.3.
  • Clarify that users migrating from Claws Mail to Icedove should delete all their Claws Mail data to remove the warning when starting Icedove
  • Make both panes of Onion Circuits scrollable to fix display issues on smaller screens
